My Trip To New York Part 2!

My trip to New York

So if you read my last post - My trip to New York Part 1 then you will hopefully be looking forward to part 2. This post will be about The Statue Of Liberty, Top Of The Rock and even a spot about Bloomingdale's.

Sunday morning we were up early and going to catch the ferry to The Statue of Liberty. To be fair I wasn't really expecting to much, I thought "it's just a statue, right?" we'll be here about an hour tops. Actually I turned out to be wrong!
The Statue Of Liberty ended up being my favorite thing to see in New York, maybe because it exceeded my expectations so much. The island was absolutely beautiful and the view of the New York skyline from there was truly beautiful. Even the statue it's self was a sight to see.
It turns out it's not just a statue, after we spent the best part of probably 45 minutes just looking out at the New York view and getting pictures, we ventured over to the Statue.
Inside the statue there is actually a museum with the history of the statue, why it came to be there and how it was built etc. We had gotten tickets for the crown so we could go all the way up. We manged to get an elevator up to the pedestal part and spend a few minutes out there too.
However you then have to walk the next 200+ steps up the the crown, now if you are afraid of being closed in I suggest you don't get tickets to the crown, the steps leading up are extremely narrow, winding and steep. We literally only just fit up there ourselves, By the time we got up to the top both our legs where shaking as there is that many steps and it's that steep. But the view is definitely worth it once you are up there. Coming down I think was worse, I was worried one slip of my foot and I would be gone, but as you can tell I'm still here.

We also went to the Top Of The Rock that afternoon, which was in my opinion better than The Empire State Building. It was much roomier, there was glass walls so you could see everything more clearer and you had this amazing view of Central Park from there. There was a seating area in the middle so you could sit and look out over the view.

Bloomingdale's was the one place I didn't get a picture of but that was mostly down to the fact it was so mega busy in there. It was so posh looking and everything you think it will be.
I love the fact that if you are a visitor to the city they give you a card that gives you 10% off anything in store and if you spend over $500 then you also get a free gift.
I went in there with the sole purpose of buying myself a handbag. I was torn between Micheal Kors and Kate Spade but after seeing just how pretty all the Kate Spade bags were I just had to go with one of those. I brought the Cedar Street bag in sky blue, it was hard to chose they were all so pretty.

Well that pretty much sums up my trip to New York, have you been to New York? What was your favorite thing to do there?
